OCD The Next Generation: Gill Smith - One4Review

****

4Stars

Gill Smith is a genuine sufferer of OCD and her previous two Fringe shows have tackled the subject, I assumed completely, but I was wrong. Ms Smith has had a whole new avenue of comedy opened to her with the recent arrival of a new generation in her baby daughter.

Gill has always been a good comedian to watch, I sometimes felt she was a little lacking in self-belief and undersold some of her funny and well observed stuff, but that performer has gone. Ooozing confidence she fully entertains for the entire hour with a completely new set based on her baby and how life has adapted her compulsions over the last year.

If I had a slight criticism she at times seems to hurry her delivery, not giving the audience a chance to fully appreciate what she has said, but there could be far worse failings, like not having enough material, something she could not be accused of.

As all good sufferers of OCD she is already planning next years show, her fourth making it neat and tidy and I will be there. In the meantime why don’t you check her out for yourselves. You don’t need to suffer from OCD to enjoy, and you may even find out something about your self into the bargain.
