Lapin Wants Breakfast – 3*** - One4Review
one4review | On 08, Aug 2013
Lapin is a hungry little French rabbit, whose friend Tania does her very best to find a suitable food for him, all the while educating three to five year olds in French words and phrases.
Children learn about possible foods that Lapin rejects, about the names of other animals, his friends, and please, thank you, and other staples of language learning.
The brief sing-along doesn’t quite get the gusto it deserves, but as the children warm up more, there’s plenty of calling out answers, and even the chance to share Lapin’s breakfast at the end.
The audience was small, but it was all eager, and the show – providing both education and entertainment (how Reithian!) – deserves a larger crowd.
