Stephanie Laing: Nincompoop 3*** - One4Review
one4review | On 15, Aug 2014
I liked Ms Laing, little bit ‘wierdo’, definitely ‘lovable’. She had a really comfortable and cosy stage presence, like sitting round a table in a pub, and her delivery of her material was confident and clear. The material itself varies in strength, but what wasn’t necessarily funny was still pleasing, on some level.
The show is about why Stephanie is a nincompoop, though that isn’t the word(s) she uses in the show. There were the promised songs and several (rather good) drawings of ducks. The show is friendly and inclusive, and there’s no participation that is particularly scary.
The show ran to a little over thirty-five minutes (fewer drunken hecklers than usual was the explanation decided on). I’d like to see what she comes up with next year.
