Simon Evans and His Big Ideas 5***** - One4Review

I actually met Simon Evans many years ago when we were both contestants on TV’s toughest quiz! He was very funny then and he still is today. Now in middle age “His Big Ideas” meander through ill health, Covid of course, his family and his heritage.
In the lecture theatre at Assembly George Square, Studio 3, I actually feel at home taking notes and learning from this guy, who could certainly pass as a Nutty Professor. It’s a very grown up show for grown ups and he/him is happy to share his opinions with us.
Simon is still somewhat sceptical about Covid and makes a compelling argument about how the elderly actually died during the pandemic. His own health comes under scrutiny, loss of memory, confusion and brain fog, all symptoms of the aging process have hit him hard with great comedic effect.
Stoptober and dry January receive a fair bit of criticism from this Fringe stalwart, but how he coped with his kids during the pandemic should have made him take up smoking again and hit the bottle.
Simon’s a great raconteur, you would want to be sat beside him at a dinner party because he’s smart, (nice suit by the way), sharp and can spin a bloody good yarn.
