The adage that the apple never falls far from the tree is certainly applicable in many cases and certainly with Elliot Steel, the son of comedy legend, Mark. However although he claims to be a nepo baby, he is not cashing in on his father’s reputation, no Elliot is his own man and a very talented comedian to boot.
Although only in his mid-20’s Steel has a wealth of experience in the comedy industry and knows how to craft an excellent hour of entertainment peppered with laugh out loud moments juxtaposed with moments of wincing, especially from the men in the sell-out venue. The central story is around an injury he received while training for a major jiu-jitsu bout and this lover of dark humour certainly sells the story. But there is plenty more, his friends stag do in Las Vegas, his family life, Xmas Monopoly games, his love of UCF and hero Dave Goggins, political leanings his comedian WhatsApp group. and much, much more. His father does get a few mentions along the way as one may expect, usually poking a bit of fun at him.
The last time I saw Elliot perform was back in 2016, and even back then he was a class act. He has got even better since then and I’m sure will remain a major player. Watch out dad, your boy is coming for you.
