Kevin Quantum: Momentum 4.5**** - One4Review

You will instantly recognise Scotlands own Kevin Quantum if you’re a Britains Got Talent fan. He made it to the live semi finals in 2020 and hasn’t looked back. His scientist background plays a big part in the show
Playing to a full house at the Assembly Ballroom, he dazzled us with an array of tricks that played with our minds and kept us wondering, how did he do that?
His close up magic, ably assisted by his cameraman and shown on the big screen has some lovely audience participation moments thrown in for good measure.
Kevin spent some time with Penn & Teller whilst learning his craft and the whole show is very slick . He’s incredibly talented and very affable.
Kevin’s finale involves a huge harmonic pendulum, with the cannonballs alight and swinging back and forth. I have seen him do this trick several times before. Sadly not tonight. Walking through the gaps, blindfolded, our master of magic gets hit by one of the fiery cannonballs and has to exit quickly. Fortunately he’s not injured but it brings home the reality that not all tricks go according to plan.
We are left feeling a little heartbroken for him, already in a big boot having suffered a ruptured Achilles, we didn’t get the big end of show we were all hoping for.
Despite that, it’s a terrific show and you should definitely go and see him in this very family friendly performance.
