Shamilton is a brilliant hour of improvised musical comedy presented by this extraordinarily talented group of six comedy/improvisation artists. They are accompanied by a drummer and keyboard player, known as the band The Shamiltones. 

Taking their inspiration from the multi award winning Broadway hit Hamilton, which is a hip/hop,rap, R&B musical about the life of Alexander Hamilton, the group have come up with the idea that this theme could be used for a show about any famous person. Who will that famous person be? Well, they have come up with the idea that each night of the show the audience will decide who it is. Crazy, but just wait to see how well they put this together. It’s incredible. 

They come out on stage and ask the audience to shout out the name of the famous person they would like to hear a story about. A risk in itself as you should hear the weird and wonderful selection of people they come up with. They narrow this down to a selection of two and a vote is taken. Once the famous person has been decided they start to build up a profile by asking the audience questions about this character;  how they started their career, challenges they may have faced, friends, enemies etc. Once all this information is gathered the show begins. Each member of the cast brilliantly takes on a different character, making up a rap from the information gathered. The lyrics and presentation were absolutely hilarious. They totally nailed our celebrity and the people in his life. It was hard to believe that they hadn’t planted people in the audience to come up with our character because the performance was so slick.  

An incredibly funny show from an extremely talented cast.I would highly recommend that you go and experience this for yourself. I most definitely will try and see this again. Amazing.
