Josh Jones creates an immediate impression from the get-go. He is genial, very camp and very northern.
Quipping that as a working circuit comedian, where his usual audience is gay men and drunken women, a slightly different make up to this one he states.
Having had a couple of highly successful Fringe runs under his belt, and numerous TV appearances as well, it is clear that Josh is a popular performer. He is funny, he is anecdotal, he is non-competitive, except with one person maybe, he doesn’t take himself too seriously and at times can be wonderfully silly.
We learn of a Xmas present jacket, that turned him gay, a drug dealing ex, city rivalry between Liverpool and Manchester, luxury mill conversions in the latter a hotdog eating contest on the back of an all you can eat buffet, a new fledgling relationship amongst many more as this History loving podcaster and comedian never flagged. There is very little crowd work, but this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, he did get possibly side tracked with a potential work contact.
He poses the question if he could only be one thing would he pick being gay or being Northern? Why not go and find out for yourselves, and I’d be very surprised if you didn’t have a really good time.
