I am still not sure that 12.00 noon is an ideal time to watch a comedy show. Okay the underground Hive venue is always dark so maybe it doesn’t matter so much.
But what ever the time of day, it is a good time to watch Tiff Stevenson do her thing. For many years now vast audiences have been flocking to see the fare she has to deliver annually, and this is no exception.
Although now mid 40’s, she must have a portrait aging in an attic somewhere, she has recently got married, not only for the usual reasons like love, also post Brexit extras, and a few of the dilemmas and decisions about the wedding addressed as only she can, drawing loads of laughter along the way.
Then there are politics, billionaires, prospective house purchase, the potential of WW3 on the horizon, erosion of women’s pension rights, Gaviscon and the less ability to sleep getting older are just a selection of the material she finds the funny in, written in her normal immaculate style and delivered by a performer with stage presence to spare.
It is a couple of years since I have seen her and I have to say she is better than ever, maybe like fine wine she just improves with age.
