Amy Mason - Behold - 4**** - One4Review

What’s the weirdest Christmas present you’ve received in the post? Amy Mason gets a bit of a shock one year and isn’t very sure who its even from. In her one-woman show, “Behold”, Mason treats us to a quite dark performance, smattered with a very funny narrative. She’s gone through some very odd times in her personal life and discovering her new identity whilst married with a family feature heavily in her 60 minute show.
Awkward conversations and dead pan put downs set the tone and her content is cleverly worded and it resonates with us. She’s quite a character, and the chaos in her life, mostly created by herself, turns into the driest of humour. She may not be the life and soul of any party, but she’s an active member of many FaceBook groups, in the Bristol area.
Her own mental health comes to the fore, when she’s been hacked, loses all social media, access to her bank account and importantly access to her medication. Amy Mason’s life may feel like utter chaos, fortunately for her audience, that’s exactly how it should be in this humorous tale from a woman in turmoil.
