Jason Byrne: Head in the clouds 5***** - One4Review

Jason is back with another outstanding performance of comedy which keep the audience laughing throughout. His show “Head in the Clouds” is called such due to his teachers at school telling him to get his head out of the clouds. The show is a mixture of planned material and improv which Jason is clear, he may not get through depending on how things go.
Jason uses the space of the stage to keep the audience’s attention and captivates his audience with his enthusiastic charisma. Audience participation is used for improvisation and Jason skilfully keeps things going for the duration of the show. Tonight’s show was centred on a guy from California and Jason using exaggerated stereotypes to distinguish between Americans and the British. He delicately mocks the English and pokes fun at the rivalry between Protestants and Catholics. Jason never comes across offensive while delving into these topics, showing how truly skilled a performer and storyteller, he is. He is not afraid to make fun of himself while also making fun of some audience members.
Jason had full control of his audience the entire hour and this time round, there was no heckling. I have seen Jason many times in the past and he manages hecklers politely and well however tonight’s audience was respectful. At the end, he quickly put together his planned material by getting a few audience members on stage – an Englishman, a Scotsman and an Irishman. The end was a hilarious disaster involving Morris dancing, Irish singing, Jazz and even the Jungle Book made an appearance. Jason just went with it, clearly enjoying himself at the same time.
A truly funny, skilled comedian with his years of experience clear to see. Highly recommend catching one of his shows this fringe. You are guaranteed a hilarious hour of comedy from
