Murder at the Fringe 2 - 4**** - One4Review

Another crime solving show by Edinburgh Little Theatre. I did not realise that when I booked, this company does several of these shows a day in various locations so top marks to them for managing this on a daily basis. This show has more comedic in content and centres on solving the murder of Professor Stiff in the Gynaecology department in a hospital. The audience is given the opportunity to cross examine each suspect and vote on who they think is the most likely suspect.
Audience participation is key to this show, however the actor playing the detective has some prompts if the audience questions go a little dry. The characters portrayed are believable and well presented. Throughout the show, there are many innuendos and the cast cleverly provide some improv to the show dependant on audience interaction.
I really liked the character developments and the good use of basic lighting effects to enhance memory recall moments. There was no pressure to interact and the cast kept the show going. The audience is provided with a pen and paper which I would recommend you take as there is a lot of detail to remember.
Again, as with the other show I reviewed, your conclusion is based on the questions asked and some people went off on tangents which confuses things, much like the realism of crime solving. However, the show has the potential for being much more fun if you have the right audience. Biggest piece of advice I would give if seeing this show, listen! A funny show that makes you work for your ticket. A must for amateur sleuths, can you catch a killer on the Fringe?
