Parker Callahan : Soda Pop - 3.5*** - One4Review

Imagine the most over the top, high-energy, camp as hell Fringe show, then multiply it by 100. What you get is Soda Pop, performed most vigorously by Parker Callahan. This is a work-out for the senses, thumping soundtracks play alongside some very risqué video footage. It’s very much shock comedy, outrageous and leaving its mark.
Callahan is like the Duracell Bunny; he just goes on and on. There’s plenty opportunity for the crowd to be involved as he lifts the lid on homophobia, stereotyping and being comfortable in your own skin. His outfit for the occasion leaves very little to the imagination!
He calls the cops a lot, ready to take on whatever is thrown at him, he’s no shrinking violet. His song lyrics are sassy and vulgar but also very funny. Love, divorce, shame and truth all end up in the melting pot of this young American performers sub-conscious. He’s not scared to poke fun at himself, it all adds to the drama and trauma.
Don’t go and see this show if you’re easily offended but do go and see it if you’re up for a mad-cap hour of mayhem and chaos.
