Robyn Reynolds: What Doesn't Kill You 4**** - One4Review

Robyn Reynolds is debuting in the Edinburgh Fringe this year after winning Best New Comedy award Melbourne Fringe in 2024. She was visibly delighted to see a sold-out room and spent the first few minutes telling us how happy that had made her.
Robyn is the most charismatic and warm comedian I have ever encountered, and every time she speaks, you can’t help but smile. Her show brims with outrageous tales from her youth and early adulthood, stories that might send many of us hiding beneath the covers and curling into a ball, yet she delivers them with remarkable humour and resilience.
We’re treated to amusing songs about “mummy issues,” “daddy divorces,” and even “poo woes,” all interwoven with darker revelations about an an alcoholic, narcissistic mother who disowned her by email at 22 which resulted in a move to Australia to live with her father and hostile stepmother along with deeply misogynistic experiences within the Australian medical system
What could easily have been a harrowing hour is in fact an uplifting celebration of survival.
With her razor-sharp wit, and gift for audience connection by the end you feel less like an audience member and more like you are rooting for your new bestie!!!
This is comedy with fantastic humour, warmth and a quietly feminist edge, a must-see Fringe debut.
