Bennett Arron has enjoyed a long career in comedy, as a performer, writer and documentary maker. He is BAFTA Shortlisted and was in the Top 10 Jokes at the Fringe 2023.

Arron’s unique gentle style of self deprecating story telling is so engaging. There are some tough subject matter explored and dissected; illness, death, depression and antisemitism.

Big subject matters, all beautifully navigated with stories told with much self deprecating humour. We are told of Bennett’s experience of bullying which may have negatively impacted his academic achievements.

There are some lovely anecdotes featuring some of his admittedly higher achieving fellow Port Tolbot born alumni; Michael Sheen, Anthony Hopkins and Catherine Zeta Jones.

To add laughs along the way when recounting a very dark period during lockdown, which resulted in both his parents being hospitalised and subsequent demise amidst the restrictions of Covid, is a skill.

A debilitating deep depression following a physical illness is also tackled with much flare and good natured charm and gentle humour. Mental health is a recurring theme and we, as an audience, are encouraged to talk. It is so important to share and talking is therapy.

Bennett is a talented raconteur story teller. Despite the heavy subject matters covered, this is a funny show and Bennett exhibits much charm and humour throughout.
