Circa: Wolf 5***** - One4Review

Some shows at the Fringe just hit you straight in the chest — Circa: Wolf did exactly that. From the first thump of its deep techno-house soundtrack, you’re pulled into a world that feels wild, dangerous, and impossibly cool.
It’s acrobatics, but not the slick, distant kind — this is raw and alive. The performers move like a pack, all instinct and trust, loping across the stage before exploding into breathtaking stunts that make you gasp out loud. One moment they’re airborne, twisting through impossible shapes; the next they’re slow, deliberate, and charged with a sensuality that’s more about presence and connection than anything obvious.
You can see why it’s called “Wolf”: there’s this constant sense of them reading each other without words, protecting and challenging in equal measure. The lighting and music build that tension perfectly — shadows melting into flashes of heat and movement, the bassline syncing with your own heartbeat.
There are so many moments where you find yourself grinning in disbelief, or realising you’ve been holding your breath. It’s physical theatre, dance, and circus all rolled into one, but with an atmosphere that’s totally its own.
When it ends, you’re left a little dazed, part of you still in their world. Circa: Wolf isn’t just a show you watch — it’s one you feel, right down to your bones.
If you see one thing this Fringe, make it this.
