Bee Story – 5***** - One4Review

Bee Story – 5*****

| On 16, Aug 2022

The Queen has arrived! And what an entrance from our queen bee! Probably one of the largest entrances you will see at the fringe and it sets the tone for a larger-than-life showcase of talent. Our worker bee is doing all he can to collect pollen and impress his queen, from unicycling, climbing anything and everything to juggling all sorts when suddenly, catastrophe strikes. Bushfires! Our queen and worker bee are suddenly without a hive and must work together to rebuild what was and in doing so our queen may learn that it’s not as easy as it looks to be a worker bee!

This piece is actually a response to the environmental tragedy that has happened to the Australian wildlife as a result of the bushfires and once you learn this, you can’t help but be more enthralled in the narrative and performance.

Through the use of outstanding circus and acrobatics to live music in the form of a flute being played (beautifully) whilst being spun, thrown, 10ft high, and so on. You will be whisked away on a mesmerizing journey with these two lovable performers as they engage the audience and I promise you, you’ll never listen to Rimsky Korsakov’s “Flight of the Bumble Bee” the same way again. Definitely a highlight of the fringe and one to watch!
