The 7 Fingers: Duel Reality - 5***** - One4Review

Upon entering the world of Duel Reality, one is met with a choice: red or blue. My wrist bore the fierce hue of the reds. Blue to the left and red to the right, the stage was set for a clash. Those reckless blues wouldn’t respect their boundaries! The intensity of the acrobatic brawl, with tosses, twirls, and two central poles, had me captivated. Then, amid the chaos, our star-crossed lovers from opposing sides locked eyes, blending shades of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet with the vibe of West Side Story.A referee set the scene for an acrobat-off of monumental proportions. Climbing, descending, vaulting—each act defied gravity. The blend of Shakespearean narratives filled gaps between these athletic showdowns, whispering: This cannot end well.
The shift to a ball game combined elements of baseball, juggling, dance, and acrobatics, playing out like an exhilarating dance-off. But even here, our Romeo and Juliet found moments of gentleness amidst the frenzy.
The mesmerising hula hoop segment, led by a solo artist surrounded by dancers, evolved into the luminous diabolo act which was a true spectacle of light and precision.
Approaching the climax, descending chains symbolised societal binds, leading to a thrilling aerial act. In a poignant moment, seesaws introduced a harmonious yet tragic dance in the air.
Duel Reality is a striking portrayal of hope. As performers shed their divisive colours, they unite, reminding us that we are all the same underneath. The finale is a poignant reminder that we are more than what divides us.
Never was a story of more ‘wow’ than of Juliet and her Romeo.
