Musical theatre @ George Square have several World Premieres one of which is ‘Murder Mystery Musical’ created by the writer of the West End hit ‘Lord of The Rings’ Shaun McKenna. This new musical is based on that great British institution the art of the gruesome mass murder melodrama. Multi-millionaire Morgan Tremain has invited several people important to his life to his private secluded island to celebrate his death. Their last contact with sanity or is it insanity is a recording of Morgan informing them that only one will survive to inherit. True to form they start dropping like flies despite the arrival of policeman Gaston Lemon. This superbly talented cast along with a brilliant lib and score, some cleverly designed costumes and set combine to create a rollicking good show which will surely gather a cult following. I can see audience members coming dressed as their personal favourite character. I came away humming some of the tunes but am pleading for the CD to get a chance to listen more often. This uber talented cast are; Miguel Angel, Rebecca Bainbridge, Alexa Brown, Charlie Cameron, Gina Murray, Sevan Stephan, Ben Stock, Neil Stewart, Harry Waller with Lee Omsby the musical director.
