Best of Irish - One4Review

The Stand Comedy Club as most of our regulars will know is a year long favurite of ours providing top quality comedy at very reasonable prices. Also when they sell a gig as The Best of Irish, they are not joking.

Compered by the Channel 4 King of Comedy Andrew Maxwell and three acts, the fabulous Owen O’Neill, a new name to me Keith Farnan and the superbly manic bundle of Irish Mayhem that is Jason Byrne and all for a very reasonable ticket price too.

I’d previously only seen Maxwell on television, but from what I saw of him I’d like to se his full act this year at the Pleasance Cabaret Bar.

Owen O’Neill is of course a comedian of note and also a fine actor. He is doing stand-up at The Stand and is also in The Odd Couple at the Assembly Halls.

Jason Byrne is a legend and I never tire of seeing his act. He of course can be found at Assembly Rooms Music Hall.

These were the acts on when I saw the show but different nights are likely to have different lineups, but given the Stand’s reputation for quality, I’m sure you’ll not be disappointed.
