The Romeo & Juliet Syndrome - One4Review

This is an interesting piece of theatre that I presume is self written and, as one could expect, there is a huge homage paid to the Bard. Welcomed into the venue by two fairies, Meridith, Letty Butler and Gladys, Annie Crawford, the dating game commences, introduced by the strolling players with a pretty good version of Dire Strait’s classic Romeo & Juliet. The rest of the cast, Matt Blake, Gina Bramhill, Tom Charge and Isie Soden play the rest of the characters as the game of love is acted out, even on occasions with the help of the audience. On occasions I found the storyline a little confusing, but it didn’t matter, there was enough going onto keep the audience amused and plenty of good performances from all of the cast and musicians to make this a thoroughly entertaining piece of early afternoon theatre. ***
