AAA Standup - One4Review
I have been attending this show every year as it is proving to be a superb vehicle for young up and coming comedians to participate in the Edinburgh experience and hone their acts before graduating onto solo shows as many have since done. The three acts on show this year are Kiwi Sully O’Sullivan, who acted as compere, Diane Morgan and Tom Wrigglesworth. O’Sullivan opened proceedings as all good comperes do by finding out a little from a rather subdued audience, generally trying to warm them up together with giving good account of himself with his own material. Diane Morgan initially found it a little hard work. She played her set in a somewhat subdued manner. She however drew the audience out of themselves with some of material, but for such an attractive lady she, in my humble opinion, does herself few favours by seldom smiling, however I’m sure she knows what she’s doing. Tom Middleton, on the other hand is boundless in his energy smiling, gagging, and got the audience with him at once. His material is wide and varied and I’m sure he is definitely one for the future. As always this is a great value show and who knows, could the next superstar be about to emerge for this trio, only time will tell. ****
