Lynn Ferguson - Heart and Sole - One4Review

Elaine is kinna confused not only has her best pal all through skill (school) gon through tae the East, St Andrews no less, tae teach kids but she’s dumped her parentally approved boyfriend for a fish! No just ony fish but a Gurnard in one o thae tanks at the Sea World! We are faced with both Elaine and Carol each putting forward their point of view but just what are you willing to do for your best friend. Add into the mix an allegedly brainwashed member of a deep-sea cult, oh and Brian the fish and basically you have Lynne Ferguson’s self written one woman play. I loved it, it may have been a little strange and whacky but boy is it fun. Especially where Carol is teaching her class 2 (us) about fish. Beautifully written and superbly performed for a taste of Scottish absurdity this should be up in every chip shop along with fish suppers and deep fried mars bars. So be an angel, don’t flounder get your skates on you’ll have a halibut great time and watch this star fish as it is the one to sea. If you don’t believe me ask Nessie she loved it too. *****
