Sarah Millican's  Not Nice  - One4Review

I had heard a lot of good things about this Geordie lady over the last couple of years but this was the first time I had had the chance to catch her live and I have to say that what I had heard did not do her justice. From the moment she hit the stage in the sold out Pleasance Hut she had the place in the palm of her hand and kept them there throughout. Sarah claims to not be the nicest person around and there is a certain amount of vitriolic humour about her marriage break up and divorce. However in general I found her very genial and it was quite a chatty experience with anyone who would answer her questions throughout. Since her break up she has suffered the trauma of returning to the voice of doom, her dad, before striking out and now has her own place, a place that she wants to child proof, but not necessarily in the accepted manner. Throughout she is self deprecating about her weight, her attractiveness to the opposite sex and even her clothes, having recently dumped half of her old clothes, but doesn’t know what to do with her old wedding dress. Ms Millican under sells herself in my opinion, and in the opinions of several audience members I spoke to afterwards, all had a great time. Now that the word is out, I suggest you get in there fast to get your ticket . Oh and as to the title of the show, it’s not what you may initially think!! *****
