Alun Cochrane ... Is A Daydreamer (At Night) - One4Review

I first saw Alun Cochrane on the Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow on BBC1 earlier in the year and immediately noted the name for future investigation. Entering to ‘Daydream Believer’ tall and slim Cochrane took to his stage and enraptured the entire packed house for the full hour of his set. He doesn’t rant, he doesn’t strut, he is just there entertaining. Unlike some he does not have a fully structured set, as he admits he does let his mind wander all over the place all of the time, but he always gets there, and it is certainly well worth waiting for.    This Glasgow born Yorkshire raised stand-up has a whole raft of material, some observational, some anecdotal, some just deliciously silly, from which he draws belly laughs from most, genuinely appealing to the packed out house throughout. It seemed to most that he had hardly started before he was finished, but on checking the watch he had played for the full hour and slightly more. Cochrane will now be very close to the top of my ‘to see’ list in the future and if there are still tickets, then get one now, however you may struggle as he is always near a sell out.   ****
