Best of Irish Comedy - One4Review

A lot of shows that claim to be the best of could almost be charged under the Trade Descriptions Act but that is never anything that could happen to the Stand with their ‘Best Of’’ ‘cause they are exactly what it says on th flier with some of the very Best of Irish comedians on a constantly changing bill. Although well into week three of this Fringe, long before scheduled start time the room was packed and no wonder given the calibre of the acts on the bill!! It was the tried and tested format of a compere, on this occasion Micheal Legge  an opening act of Sonya Kelly. I hadn’t come across her before but her fifteen minutes encouraged me to see her again and before the interval, Tara Flynn, a lady I have enjoyed seeing a few times previously and it was good to catch her again. Legge was at his best when opening the second half introducing Andrew Maxwell as the headliner. Maxwell was in a mischievous mood obviously and was enjoying himself as much as the punters where enjoying him As could only be expected this was an excellent hour and 15 minutes as each act added their expertise to proceedings.  As you can see from this line-up it really is the Best of Irish and there will be another excellent line-up each night to the end of the Fringe.   *****
