‘Porn – The Musical’ will either have people running to the theatre or staying away in droves. Despite the title the show is done in the best possible taste. We have a live band of four musicians stage right. We meet our hero Stefan (Max Dingli) on the factual Island of Malta where “Everyone in Malta is Related” he is planning his wedding to Jade (Eliza Borg) but her slutty revelations force him to flee to the USA. Our narrator the be-suited Malcolm Galea, pops in and out of the action, telling the audience and occasionally the actors what is about to happen next. In America Stefan is mugged by his first new friend ‘the Miscellaneous Man’ Toni Attard, who strangely enough appears in several scenes always cunningly disguised. Stefan’s spirits are brightened when his rescuer’s double-D’s makes a huge impression on him, that is Sanddy (Sarah Naudi) the stunning ‘Porn’ star. Wandering in to the Porno-studio after her, Stefan might just be the answer to Martin (Louis Cassar) Scoresleazy’s prayer, his porn industry is in jeopardy he needs new stars and a new slant. Through the studio Stefan meets Dr Johnny Long (David Ellul) with his PhD, the proof of which shows as far as his left knee! The songs come thick and fast as does the comedy, despite the title there is no nudity and actually the show does not need any. Don’t be put off by the title this is a very funny musical full of superb performers with brilliant voices and If you like me enjoyed the show so much you can get the CD. ****
