Neil Delamere: Divilment - One4Review

4 Stars ****

Neil Delamere is yet another off the seemingly endless conveyor belt of comedy talent fromEireand having had a year off in 2010 I was delighted to see he was back, this time at the Pleasance for 2011.

The show title Divilment refers to the Irish term for mischief making and my goodness does Delamere have a bucket load of this in his soul.

The normal warming up of the audience uncovered a rather stunning lady from Azerbyjan, with here British husband and it gave him an easy source of fun in a non-threatening way.

But his set was packed with material, and given the speed he talks…., probably twice as much as others may need to use for their hour. He can be topical, he can be and is anecdotal, and has the craft to paint vivid pictures in his telling of these stories, he can riff with the audience, in fact I feel that he is the complete package.

In previous years I have been totally impressed, and I’m pleased to say this year was no different. It amazes me why he I not the huge draw that others are. He is as good as most and a lot better than a fair number too.

Don’t just take my word for it, try for yourself, you wont regret it.
