Alistair Barrie has been a hard working stand-up for a number of years and certainly has never delivered an average show as far as I have seen, it has always been a good show at least.

This year I do feel he has upped the ante and ‘Urban Fogey’ is his most accomplished to date.

Smartly attired Barrie steps out to his capacity Saturday night crowd, never the easiest group, and was in comment from the get go.

His multi-national audience was warmed up with some Olympic based humour graduating to Boris, the BNP and it was all systems go for the remainder of his hour.

Barrie has written a very funny set, stories, gags, observations, jibes  he ticks all the boxes and his easy to listen to voice and relaxed manner sit completely with the demeanour of the man. Topics visited include touring,, India, the weather, tattoos and his relationship break-up are points of call on his tour and in spite of being buzzed by jet fighters and rattled by a bottle bank the whole experience was hilarious.

The show is doing great business, if you want to see a top class comic on the top of his game you better be quick
