Iszi Lawrence’s Wotnot - One4Review

4 Stars

****

Iszi Lawrence has been a fixture on the Fringe for quite a few years now but this is the first time I have seem this Oxford based comic do a full hour.

She has a definitely quirky appearance, she could never blend into a crowd, but then given the show she is delivering this year she definitely deserves to stand out anyway.

She is bright, she is bubbly and enthusiastic, well written and prepared with a energetic set and although is performing in early afternoon managed to inject an evening feel to the performance.

Like all comics she has an obscure link to the show title which is explained dearly on and then expounds on school, being nerdy, her sexuality, breakfast cereal in fact most things, something for everybody in her show me thinks.

The packed out show were receptive to wherever she went, gathering laughter form all quarters with stories, gags or whatever she got mileage out of,

Based on this performance I think she has definitely upped the ante and I look forward to seeing her development in the next few years.
