Munfred Bernstein's Cabinet of Wonder - One4Review

****

This is a really lovely show. Think of it as funny theatre rather than outright comedy, with some (ukulele!) music thrown in. Munfred Bernstein (I have no reason to believe that this is a character being played by a comedian) has travelled the world, and presents for you his collection of memories and misadventures. With songs.

It’s a really well-crafted show. The overall structure is simple, and though there are various deviations and detours along the way, he always comes back to where he left off and ties up the loose ends. He commands your attention entirely, and creates a lovely rapport with the audience, gently mocking but never vindictive. Munfred has complete control of the show, and he dealt so well with the little bits that went slightly wrong that they only added to the charm.

I defy you to leave not feeling lighter-hearted than when you went in.
