Lucy Porter- People Person - One4Review

4 Stars

****

I have been an avid fan of Ms Porter for a long time now and it was a poorer Fringe for the last two years in my opinion when, due to other more pressing things, well she had become a mother twice in this time, could not attend.

But she is back and the enforced absence has certainly not diminished her comic talents, in fact I think it has enhanced them.

‘People Person’ is in essence a catch up on what has been happening in her life during her sabbatical, and the story of acquiring a new friend along the way. But in other ways it is a very accurate description of the lady herself.

As only she can Lucy, always smiling, always nice and friendly entertained her audience with an informative, yet funny hours worth of sparklingly brand new stories, things that happened to her and the state of BBC Daytime TV shows, and in order to escape this encountered her new friend.

She could never be classed as an edgy comic, but her style is inclusive and engaging. Her set as always is beautifully prepared and presented and the vast number of followers she has is a testament to her ability. The time spent watching her set seems to go twice as fast as any other hour in my opinion. An ideal show to start the Fringe evening.
