Entering to the appropriate Rocky theme music, Northern Ireland born comic Michael Legge shouts out questions rapid style, spurning the use of a mic and generally establishing the demeanour of not being a happy chappy. He questions why be happy, whats wrong with being miserable? He has worked out that he hates everyone except Peter Capaldi and his dog!

Legge is off and running and packs a whole host of diverse material into his hour. Early material about Twitter is funny yet not so ground breaking, Operation Yew tree gets an airing, roller skating yoofs, Mrs Brown’s Boys and his nomination for the angriest man in the world are all areas that come under the microscope.

For me, however, it is the description of his holiday in Bulgaria that is the highlight of his set. His powers of description were so accomplished that he transported everyone there and it was like we were witnessing the unusual situations first hand.

Legge stated near the top of the show that maybe after four years of grumpiness he needs to be happy again. Maybe he does, but for an hour he certainly cheered us all up with laughter.
