Pippin - One4Review

Pippin

2 stars **

One of Stephen Schwartz’ lesser known shows, Pippin is really sounding dated now. The very young cast give their all and are clearly enjoying themselves however the singing is very weak and hard to make out even with mics. There is a lot of nice choreography but there are often pauses in the staging while the cast are waiting for things to happen (intros etc.). Pippin himself did a fine job.

The live piano worked really well and it’s nice to see the show again but it really needs an update. A great experience for such a young group to come over to the Fringe, I hope they got a lot out of it.
