Blues and Burlesque – Hotter Than Hell 3***

| On 15, Aug 2014

Blues and Burlesque is a show that transforms the mid-afternoon Bosco tent into a late night sleazy jazz club and the welcoming music of blues is provided by Pete Saunders and what a player he is with a good singing voice to boot.

Warmed up as the audience now were, then it is enter the girls, the bickering Scarlett Belle and Vicious Delicious who both sing, dance and do an occasional bit of burlesque along the way too.

There is plenty of blues, a load of quality singing, and a fair amount of comedy but for most of the audience I feel there was not near enough burlesque in this year’s production which wasn’t the case in the previous times I had seen the show.

The original compositions by Saunders were for me the highlights of this 50 minutes show and as I am more into music that was fine. However if the burlesque is what you want perhaps you may feel somewhat short changed.
