Yianni: Why Did the Chicken Cross the Line? 4**** - One4Review
one4review | On 24, Aug 2015
Fringe favourite Yianni is back and is as good as ever with the 2015 offering.
He starts off explaining the show theme as coming from being emailed prior to a gig asking him not to mention a few subjects as they could cause offence, and this sparked his fertile comedy brain into wondering as to where is the ‘line’ that shouldn’t be crossed and was it the same for everyone.
There is a fair amount of market research done with his afternoon crowd and I suppose that it draws the inevitable conclusion that this line is flexible and does tend to move around a bit, quite a bit.
What we do get during this hour is a very able comic delivering his well-written and funny material in an appealing smiling way. Surely nothing that comes out of his mouth could offend anyone could it?
He investigate taboos, religion, sweary words, idiots clogging the gene pool, the three faces of man, and God, religion and cruise ships. Something for everyone surely.
And as in the old adage finish on a song, Yianni can do this too.
If you have seen him before go see him again, if you haven’t go anyway, I think you’ll be glad you did.
