The Amazing Scene Machine 4**** - One4Review

The moment you arrive, you get Plasticine to play with – at last a children’s show that actually encourages you to be fiddling around from the off!
Jim Parkyn, from Aardman quickly guides his young, and old new model-makers in the art of making a figure. He suggests making yourself, but you can make someone else, or an animal. Either way, from your plain base clay, you’re guided through the steps of figure-making, from a rounded ball all the way through to hands, face and adding on hair.
At the end, every single model goes into, or onto a frame, with animation shots taken so that a new figure appears in each shot. The Amazing Scene Machine website will apparently have all the results from each show, but my best efforts couldn’t find it.
Children loved wrangling the Plasticine into figures, and adding bright coloured clothing. Some adults may have got a little deeply involved… but how often do you get to join in as much as your child?! Have fun, get completely hands-on, and show off your work to an encouraging, helpful expert.
