Gareth Waugh :- Oh Boy…! 4**** - One4Review
one4review | On 09, Aug 2018
Local comedian Gareth Waugh returns to Fringe 2018 with his second Edinburgh hour following last year’s success of Honestly?, and he has been promoted to The Sportsman, a ‘big boys’ room he says.
And it’s not only in that way, Waugh has recently bought a house and whilst clearing out some stuff he found a bucket list he had written as a teenager which inspired this show.
There is no doubt that he is a natural raconteur and a bloody funny one as well. Never afraid to take the mickey out of himself, Gareth walks the sell-out crowd through a few of the steps he has achieved that feature on said list.
Ably abetted with laptop illustrations, both pictures and VT, he relates episodes in his life, travelling to Australia, early rap dalliances, TV appearances, tattoos, explaining Scottish kids’ games to Americans, delivering an eulogy at his Gran’s funeral and an extraordinary dining experience in Vietnam together with much more fun and laughter.
Waugh is an easy comic to like and he certainly won many more admirers with his performance this year. And you won’t be disappointed when you go. Just make sure you don’t leave till the finale.
