Chloe Petts – Transcience 5***** - One4Review

Can this really be Chloe Petts debut Edinburgh Show? The facts would say so , but given the confidence she exhibits, a set stuffed to the gunwales with hilarious gags and anecdotes one could think she’s been here for years.
Prior to the commencement of her hour, with Fat Les’s Vindaloo on a loop, Chloe is off and running making a case for a new national anthem, and this football fanatic questions the watching of the World Cup in Qatar, gentle warmers for the main show.
Leading the sell-out audience through her early life, a football playing youngster, her greatest acting role of being straight, and her love of lad culture, being misgendered frequently even from a young age, she peppers her set with hilarious often self-deprecating stories, joshes with the front rows, gets the message through without lecturing and carrying everyone with this delightful mix.
We hear of ‘finally’ being accepted by the Alans, seat neighbours at her beloved Crystal Palace ground, gender neutral toilets and seeking Art Council funding for a project she is considering.
Chloe’s delivery is chatty, having a beer with your mates’ style which goes down well with everyone. While watching her show, I became aware that she was wrapping up, my thoughts were she had only been onstage 20 minutes or so, but no, the hour was up.
Chloe Petts is definitely a person to be reckoned with, she will definitely be a huge presence in the comedy world and will be one of the first shows I look for in future years.
