My 10-year-old and I had high hopes for this one. Described as a selection of the fringe’s finest comedians, but for kids, every show is different. The compere, Lee Kyle, was excellent. He struck the balance between being kid-friendly but also funny and cheeky. He was great with the kids he had up on stage and also with the adults squirming in the audience.

On our night we had two acts – a pair of magicians followed by a trio of improvised comedians. Both acts were quite good. They didn’t get long on the stage – about 15 minutes each – so they didn’t really get into the swing of their act. The audience seemed to like them though and Lee Kyle was great in between acts.

Every show is different, so I suppose there is an element of luck to how good your show will be. This show would be ideal for kids who are not sure what they like, or for first timers to the fringe. Personally, I would rather spend my £10.50 on a show I was recommended, rather than take the risk with this one. Suitable for kids of all ages which is a bid draw, as is the lovely venue.
