Mark Nelson – Bits & Pieces 4.5****

| On 02, Aug 2023

This is Mark Nelson’s 10th Fringe and he has plenty to say in this incredibly funny hour long show. A lot has happened in the past 12 months and he reminds us quite vividly of some of the highlights.

Be prepared to be amused and entertained as he covers a vast array of topics from Barbie to politics, and many, many things in between.

Mark talks passionately about his family and uses them to great effect. His young son obviously has inherited his dads sense of humour. There’s some terrific use of props too which adds to the fun.

A particular gem for me and the audience was how he recalled being in Vegas recently on a Stag Do for another comedian “colleague”. What happens in Vegas doesn’t stay in Vegas fortunately.

Mark manages to link his tales very well and no-one is safe. The couple in the front row from California were comedy gold! Politicians and The Royal Family also get their fair share of airtime and are mocked mercilessly.

He worked the room incredibly well, he’s very engaging and entertaining and the audience had a great time. The couple next to me from Yorkshire would recommend this show and so would I.

Thanks Mr Nelson, we had a right good laugh and it’s a great start to the Fringe.
