What can I say about The Kinsey Sicks? This 4 piece Drag – a cappella group set the scene, performing their own brand of musical comedy to us, a school assembly. But they’re not Drag Queens, instead they’re here to teach us about how dangerous Drag Queens are via witty songs and made up nursery rhymes, some of which will forever be etched in my mind.
There’s a fair bit of US political satire explored as well which I felt was lost on a good portion of the audience. The current situation in the USA gets trounced beautifully along with Mr Trump and there’s innuendo aplenty.
Family values, Christianity and being Jewish are all explained to “us kids” in the audience along with the US Constitution, Disney and Mary Poppins. The “spoonful of sugar” song was very well done and I will never look at Julie Andrews in quite the same way ever again!
Hats off to these 4 troopers who handled a group of annoying hecklers, they dealt with them like true pros and didn’t let them spoil the show.
Great outfits and a lot of fun and they all sing and perform very well together.
