The Barbaren Barbies, a Berlin-based international circus company hailing from Germany, New Zealand, Canada, and Finland, is an extraordinary troupe of talented female circus artists. These five bold superheroines blend incredible acrobatics, dance, and comedy with delightfully shocking silliness. Their performance playfully teases stereotypes and explores the complexities of womanhood.

The show is a series of sketches drawn from a big book of the history of the female experience, made exceptional by their brilliantly funny observations on this journey. The troupe’s outrageous acrobatic performances are so captivating that you almost forget the immense strength and skill required to pull them off.

Highlights include a jaw-dropping routine on the Chinese pole, magic tricks seamlessly integrated into a stunning trapeze performance, and an unforgettable aerial hoop routine where one cast member, dressed as an egg, delivers a hysterical sketch about fertility. There’s also a brilliantly choreographed hip-hop routine that hilariously mimics every mannerism of typical alpha male hip-hop artists.

The audience responded with great enthusiasm at the conclusion of this unique circus experience, and I highly recommend seeing these immensely talented artists in action.
