Susie McCabe – Best Behaviour 4.5 **** - One4Review

The rise of the comedian from doing a 10 minute slot in a comedy club, through bigger and better venues over the years. It can seem to be quite spectacular at times and there is no doubt that all the hard work and long travels that they put in can bring the kudos and success that they deserve. Susie McCabe is one such example of this.
Although it was a midweek night several hundred people, the majority Sottish, but many visitors too, packed into the Gordon Aikman Theatre to see her latest offering.
Susie’s initial crowd work, as a starter to the main course to follow set the tone. It was sharp and funny finding plenty of laughs before settling into the stories of her eventful past 12 months.
There are health conditions, relationship breakdowns , family bereavements, and so much more. One of the funniest sections was teaching her brother the only way to get the most value of the hotel breakfast, and don’t get her started at the etiquette of the toaster machine. Susie has the audience in stiches with the finely observed, wonderfully written material and delivered as only she can. Oh and she also has the solution to solving the Ukraine issues and keeping Mr Putin in check.
Last year Susie was awarded the Sir Billy Connelly Spirit of Glasgow Award and plaudits from the man himself. It is easy to see why. Go check her out for yourself. You will not be disappointed.
