Are you a bit of a night owl or maybe you need a bed-time story to help you drift off? Well Thomas Currie’s show, Basically Nocturnal is a musical celebration of things that happen in the dark of night.  He’s a very accomplished musician and has a very listenable singing voice.  This young Australian delivers a delightful musical comedy, with all original music and lyrics.

Witty songs with a dark edge, stories well told with great gusto are all a real treat.  His skills on the keyboard are superb. The shows filled with catchy tunes.  In fact we even help him create a song using AI and he performs it for us within a matter of minutes.  It’s really quite incredible.

It’s clear that his own poor sleep patterns have played their part in creating this piece of work and his musings after mid-night reveal much to us, with a lot of quirkiness for good measure.  There’s a real feel-good vibe here, and its well worth going to see.

If you’ve ever lain awake looking up to the ceiling, jot down your thoughts, you might end up with your very own Fringe Show.
