Andy Parsons is probably best known for being a regular panellist on the hit TV series ‘Mock the Week’ for more than ten seasons but has been a comedy writer and performer for many years both before and after these appearances, often touring in the Uk and abroad.
It was early in 2025 Fringe that I joined the packed-out audience of the Pleasance Cabaret Bar to see what he had in store this year.
Parsons is not one of those comedians who paces the stage, shouting and posturing as some others. What we get is an excellent hour of finely honed material delivered by an obviously thoughtful guy.
Most of his material is in and around politics, so obviously with his sharp mind he has plenty of scope and people to vent his thoughts on, and an eager crows to listen. He made full use of the time and most of the expected targets came under his microscope. Trump, obviously, Vance of course, Starmer and Rachel Reeves, Musk of course and not let’s forget Farage and even Liz Truss still got a mention.
But there was obviously other targets HS2, Thames Water, Tariffs, and Branson’s space trips merited an opinion or two from our star.
It was one of these shows that just flew by, and I was definitely not alone in wishing we had another hour of his musings.
Parsons is only at the Fringe for a short run. Hurry to get your ticket.
