Son of the father - One4Review

I never really thought what Joseph might feel after the death of his son. This two hander depicts the scene between Mary & Joseph, after the crucifixion and interment of Jesus. We know little of his younger days or the siblings he may have had. This production also gives him siblings. I can see very religious people being upset by this show but personally think it is a superbly written and performed piece of theatre. I was initially attracted to the show by the fact that Pipp Utton is playing Joseph, having seen his work before I knew I was in for an excellently performed piece of theatre. Mae Brogan as Mary was more of an unknown quantity, this being her Fringe debut. She was also superb and a great foil for Mr Utton. It certainly made me think over a few things I hadn’t considered before. As a piece of classical theatre it is well worth seeing as a foil for lighter shows on the fringe. ***
