Hannah and Hanna - One4Review

Take one 16 year old girl from Margate, called Hannah and a 16 year old Kosovo asylum seeker called Hanna living in Margate, mix in ingrained racial prejudice, stir well leave to prove for the excess of an hour and you have the perfect recipe for a late morning theatrical piece, written by John Retallack. This is a beautifully constructed play that seeks to prove that given a chance there is no need for racial prejudices and teenagers are really teenagers no matter where they are born. Hannah, played by Rachael McCormick and Hanna, Nicola Thorpe, play their roles with zest, they sing and dance well and the direction and choreography are well suited for the limited acting space. ****
