7 Spies at the Casino - One4Review

James Bond fans, and those of us of a certain age, will be aware that there was another Casino Royale, this one made in 1967, and not really part of the James Bond official series. Sir James Bond as he was in this was portrayed by David Niven, and it is in this guise that Paul Lavers delivers his account of the filming of the movie and spiced up with gossip and anecdotes of the cast, directors and almost un believable exploits that took place in the shooting. I’m sure that the facts delivered from the writing of James Goss were correct, but I found myself agog at some of the decisions that were made during the production, the amount of money that was spent and the total absurdity that the original version turned out as. Lavers, looks very similar to my recollection of Niven, and he remains in character as the super cool suave Englishman and his story is over for to soon for me. ***
