Ae Fond Kiss - One4Review

This very Scottish play by Ann-Marie di Mambro is set in the flat of Lola, Libby McArthur, a mid forties prostitute who is settling down to watch the telly when there is a knock on the door, where Zed, an 18 year old boy has been sent to see her by his mates. He is very nervous and the comedy generated by the situation and the excellent portrayal by the two actors has the large audience laughing throughout. As the play unfolds it appears that both characters have their own problems, and as they talk out their issues each has advice for the other, advice that does not seem to sit well and looks likely to be ignored. Or will it? This is a very interesting and funny play, beautifully staged and acted by Ms McArthur and her co-star, unfortunately I have been unable to find out his name, and would have no hesitation in recommending this for early afternoon viewing. ****
